This piece was commissioned by Vinn Rosta.
Theme song for Xirxenlen, Goddess of Poison and Pestilence, a villain from a Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
Vinn Rosta requested a slow, haunting, sinister track for their D&D game, which I took as an opportunity to try out writing for the pipe organ for the first time. Turns out it’s a complex bastard of an instrument, but also a beautiful one that’s worth learning how to write for – nothing spells “harbinger of doom” like a good ol’ churchy organ.
Art adapted from original artwork by Nicassio.
